Today was the Turnbull Stakes in Melbourne. The super star horse Winx won the 2000m Group 1 race at Flemington. It was Winx‘s 28th consecutive win. She is an amazing horse. It was a beautiful sunny day in the low 20’s and although I could have gone, sometimes, you just have to prioritise things, and it wasn’t my top priority to go to the races today.
I have pencilled in a couple of interesting races meetings later this month.
The Nanua Picnic Races and Gymkhana will be held on 20-21 October 2018 in the north west of outback NSW, 245 km north west of Wentworth, close to the South Australian border. I have never been. I hope to go this year.
The event has been going since 1945. There is a theme, Anything Blue Saturday. This is in support of Dolly Dream and hopes to raise awareness of bullying and its effects, and also mental health in our local community.
On the 27th of October is the Silver City Cup races in Broken Hill.
