The will be rallies in other cities on the 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th of October and on 20th November two final rallies will take place in Brisbane and Canberra.
The rallies, under the banner ‘Change the RULES’, are about fighting for a ‘fairer go’. The campaign slogan includes –
STAND TOGETHER AND BE PART OF HISTORY.
The campaign’s goals include –
- pay rises that keep up with the cost of living
- a minimum wage you can live on
- equal pay for equal work
- an end to big business and big banks rorting the system
- the protection of our penalty rates
- better job security
The Federal Minister for Jobs and Industrial Relations Kelly O’Dwyer was quoted in ‘The Age’ today as saying, the rally would be a ‘small insight to what will happen across Australia on a rolling basis under a Shorten government.’
The rallies are happening right now under a Liberal government. And the Liberal Party of Australia has been in government since 2013.
